Evaluation part 1

Conventions.

In our film we have stuck to typical action thriller codes and convention in our film we include a: chase scene, areas of mystery, suspense and heroes and villains all of which are typical in action thrillers.

We do have a sci-fi twist in ours!

I think we have kept to these codes and conventions well but we have added a few extra codes and conventions that are not typical of an action thriller. We have added a twist to the action thriller as all the way through the film up to when he opens the package it could be anything, a body perhaps or a rare stolen diamond maybe, but when he realises he held some top secret alien documents or secrets throws a very scary, sci-fi twist on the film!

Classified is still a successful action thriller beacuse it sticks to the codes and conventions typical of an action thriller. Even though it has a sci-fi edge, the film grips you in the way an action thriller does. You are routing for Sam, and against the army soldiers, at the point when Sam trips and falls the audience feels a scense of worry for him.

The sci-fi element of the film throws a very intresting and fun twist on  the film. It takes it away from the action thriller genre and builds the film more character and makes it more appealing to a wider audience.
